First Pass Editing
Developmental editing is the first and most essential round of professional editing. This is when you’re probably sending your manuscript out to Alpha readers.
In this package I will look at your structure over all. This highlights inconsistencies, plot holes and any underlying issues with the bigger picture. I will also give advice regarding line and word-level issues, showing you any bad habits that you might have.
This package includes one revision after initial edits.

Fixing the Small Things
- Newly complete manuscript
- Find and eliminate the small errors on a word level.
Line editing is for the small issues such as repetition and continuity errors. This stage comes after the big developmental edit and some time around when you might have Beta readers.
In this package I will concentrate on your word usage. Through this I will suggest ways you can make every word of your manuscript as powerful as possible.
Polished Proof
The final step of editing a book is the Proofread. This is the varnish that makes the novel shine. This involves a read thorough of your novel to make sure every sentence is as perfect as it can be.
For this service I charge £12/$15 per 1000 words.
By default, I edit to British publishing standards, meaning the spelling, grammar, and syntax will follow British rules. If you require US standard, please let me know while booking.
Intro Offer
When it’s your first time working with me, I want to make sure you’re as happy as possible with my editing style. For this reason I offer an introductory offer of £40/$50 for the first 5,000 words of text.
This will allow you to see my style, and see if we click as a partnership in your writing journey.
Installments
I’m happy to take projects in chunks, doing editing as your finances allow. Once all the manuscript is finished, a final revision is included, allowing me to check the text as a whole.
Alternatively, I can receive payment on a monthly basis. The manuscript will be completed and returned at the end of the time frame.
Story Surgery
These sessions are for writers who are still in the process of writing and need assistance. I make my 14 years of writing & editing experience available to talk about your project with a professional. Maybe you’re a pantser who has run out of steam, or you’re not sure how to develop your idea into a full novel. Maybe you aren’t confident that your project is worth your time. Whatever the need, I’m here to support you.

Conducted via zoom, you will provide an in-depth summary of the project so far, and any specific questions you have. I will prompt ideas, highlight areas of concern or missing information, and give detailed resources for you to look through to make your writing the best it can be from day one.
